#10000 Cotton Aizome Hakama - Super Heavy Weight
Entirely made of Cotton, this model is recommended to practitioners who already have an experience in wearing Hakama. Contrary to the Tetron fabric, Cotton need more maintenance and if you do not take care, the Hakama could lose its pleats.
#10000 corresponds to the yarn density, it means higher the number is, the more rigid fabric will be. #10000 is the maximum density allowed by Cotton to maintain a good strength while providing a soft cloth.
Sei Aizome (正藍) dye: It means the dying has been made in the traditional way. Organic Indigo has been used in the process of dying, that's why the fabric will bleed heavily at the beginning. Furthermore, the Sei Aizome has some unsuspected properties like its antibacterial and antiseptic virtues. But its first use is to soften the fabric, especially the cotton.
Please, note that traditionally Hakama is not worn the same way by Men and Women. Men wear it tied on the hips and Women wear it tied on the waist. For more information, please refer you to the corresponding chart on the "How to Choose your Hakama" page.
